Indianapolis Colts Battle Atlanta Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10

Guten tag, fussball enthusiasts. Wie gehts? Alles klar I trust on this fine early start to the tenth week coming straight outta Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the mighty Colts (seven wins and two losses) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the first in the nation’s capital.

Pregame Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be taking the field soon. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are ever likely to see. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the German anthem. Classy.

Opening Period Action

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

Here we go! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right side then fumbles … only for his center to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver cannot reel in a fastball from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Recap

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard line. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some chunky receptions to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for the running back to run untouched into the end zone through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.
