Tehran is willing to resume atomic talks with Washington as long as it is handled with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat stated solely negotiations produced results, and disclosed recent overtures had been made by intermediaries to restart talks with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran did not have undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran had not yet reached a point to permit the global atomic watchdog to access struck enrichment centers for security reasons.

Navigating a Complex Course

Araghchi is treading a complex path since Iran wishes not to appear to be operating from a situation of disadvantage, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out more resilient militarily and psychologically from the coordinated strike on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a defense forum in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an inalienable right to process nuclear material on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the previous talks.

Prior Negotiations Suddenly Ended

The prior phases of talks between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that concluded with the US president asserting the locations had been destroyed. Subsequently, EU nations exercised their privilege to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a substantial consequence.

Magic Solution Suggested

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had reached a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was settled an domestic cooperative with American involvement could enrich uranium. Each party would have been able to declare success since local refinement would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been settled in the discussions that US nuclear scientists could function on Iranian soil, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. Diplomats stated repeatedly they had secured an understanding with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to disintegrate due to "opponents in the US".

Present Status

Tehran representatives stated the consortium offer was now off the table, but it seems quite possible the offer could be resurrected in certain ways if negotiations restart.

The American leader recently stated he had been obtaining communications that Iran wanted to reopen negotiations, but confidentially Tehran representatives claim they are not yet obtaining consistent overtures from Washington either explicitly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and the Saudi kingdom. The Iran's state department has been charged of passivity in the aftermath of Washington's unmediated tactics, but Tehran states negotiations is not part of a performance.

Political Stance

In his remarks to the conference, intended to paint the US as a dominant force that abuses the idea of worldwide standards, Araghchi said the 12-day war revealed the conflict could not be resolved by military means. He stated the strikes commenced with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a ceasefire.

Iran is assured the first strikes by Israel were mounted with full US knowledge and cooperation, making faith hard to restore.

Diplomacy Remains the Final Solution

Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had fled negotiations; it was America and the Western nations that had repeatedly tried to enforce their demands during the negotiations. Diplomacy can still be alive and continues the ultimate resolution to address disagreements, but its standards, regulations and tenets must be respected."

"In case they speak to the Iranian people with the approach of dignity and respect, they will receive a response in the identical language."

Recovery and Reconstruction

In what is characterized by Tehran representatives as the battle of restoration and reconstruction, Araghchi stated he was confident Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been rebuilt. We learned multiple understandings from this engagement; we have identified our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of the opponent."

He stated: "We effectively endured this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they aimed to destroy, continues to exist. The facilities and equipment, if damaged, will be reconstructed; what is important is the will of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they targeted, but were unable to break. The citizens of Tehran have become more resilient, more integrated, and more supportive of the government and the state in the wake of this attack."
