Juventus Snatch Thrilling Draw After Eight-Goal Second Half Clash Against Borussia Dortmund

Englishman Lloyd Kelly netted a leveler deep into stoppage time of injury time to rescue a draw for Juventus following a thrilling goal-laden second period at home to Dortmund.

The Defender’s Redemption Following Spot-Kick Mistake

Defender Kelly – who joined from the Magpies in the summer – conceded a penalty that allowed Dortmund to make it 4-2, before he responded Dusan Vlahovic's 94th-minute leveler by heading home a delivery from Vlahovic later.

Quiet Opening Gives Way to Goal Fest

Neither side created little of note during the first 45 minutes while they neutralized one another in the middle.

The first half failed to excite viewers, but those who persisted were treated to an explosion of real excitement after halftime – with the hosts fought back on three occasions, with eight goals coming after the 51st minute.

It is just the second-ever Champions League game in which eight goals were netted during a single half, after the second half of Bayern Munich's 9-2 win against Dinamo Zagreb last season.

Rollercoaster Second Half

Karim Adeyemi gave Dortmund the opener when he expertly shifted possession on the edge the area and guided it past the keeper.

Dortmund stepped up with their finishing, but, little over 10 minutes later, a piece of Juventus magic by Yildiz ended with the Turkey international bending a wonderful effort top bins from range.

Less than two minutes passed before Dortmund were back in front, with Felix Nmecha delivering another sublime shot when he curled a one-time strike top shelf.

Yet the drama continued with further twists around the corner, with Vlahovic slotted home in a breakaway less than later to tie again.

Late Drama

After surrendering their advantage on two occasions, Dortmund seized control once again as Couto, charging into the penalty area, fired a powerful shot inside of the near post, narrowly past the dive of the goalkeeper.

Bensebaini doubled the advantage via a penalty after former England Under-21 international Lloyd Kelly touched it in his box.

However Vlahovic fired a last-gasp shot off the frame then assisting ex- Bristol City and Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly to seal an injury-time draw.
